The Sakhalin Regional Court has granted an appeal  by Chechen Republic leader Ramzan Kadyrov, revoking a lower court’s ruling that labelled a book containing quotes and commentary on verses from the Quran as extremist.

A  judge of the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk declared the book “Plea (Dua) to God: Its Role and Place in Islam” to be extremist in August.

Flag_of_the_Chechen_Republic_of_Ichkeria.svgThe book had been printed at the request of The Spiritual Muslim Board of the Asiatic part of Russia, but the judge agreed with a prosecutor who said that the book calls for terrorism and kidnapping. The ruling also questioned the legality of some verses from the Quran.
